MARE FORUM SHIPFINANCE
2009

SHIPOWNERS VERSUS CAPITAL PROVIDERS
Restoring Trust

A lively debate between Shipowners and Capital Providers

Wednesday 28 October 2009
OKURA Hotel

AMSTERDAM - THE NETHERLANDS

Here’s a date for your diary. Wednesday October 28, 2009. You can put it down now, confident that it will be the day on which you finally get to understand where the money is going in shipping.

The theme at the highly successful and very lively eighth forum last year was, “Who is afraid of the future?”. This year it should logically be, “Who is afraid of the past?”. Because what bankers, owners and charterers have done during the last two years is going to come back and haunt them.
A lot of people in shipping have discovered who their real friends are, and also who they cannot rely on, and the lessons have been tough.

The credit crunch has highlighted the fundamental importance of trust, right through the shipping chain from builder to owner to banker to charterer to trade financier.

This year in Amsterdam we shall bring together a lot of key owners, bankers, financiers, yards, and charterers and see where trust has been strengthened by tough times, and find ways to restore it where it has failed. It will be an angry forum, a lively forum, a frank and free speaking forum, and a chance to clear the air. And it might just be perfectly timed to mark the point in the cycle where it makes sense to start investing again. Which is a good time for financiers and owners to get together.

Come to Mare Forum Ship Finance in Amsterdam, help restore some trust, enjoy lively debate and good company, and find out where the money is and where it is going.
