Mare Forum´s Shipping Law Conference, supported by The Maritime Advocate and hosted by Ignacio de Ros is set for Monday December 9th 2002 in the city of Barcelona Spain and promises the same high level of speakers, topics and delegates typical of every Mare Forum conference in combination with a varied and festive social programme in the days leading up to the conference. 

Bringing together maritime lawyers, shipowners and insurers from around the world, the forum will discuss and debate the changing face of maritime law, particularly in the areas of Ship Arrest & Security; Litigation, Arbitration & ADR; Carriage of Goods by Sea; Dangers & Disputes-New Laws for a New World.

With expert speakers from all areas of the industry and a dazzling social programme set in Europe ’s most exciting city, it looks set to be a truly memorable event.

Opus 2002 is set in the newly opened Eurostars Grand Marina Hotel in the Port Vell (Old Port) of Barcelona.  The hotel boasts a  Five Star Deluxe rating, and occupies the Western side of the Barcelona World Trade Center, with outstanding views of the famous Ramblas, Mare-Magnum Complex and the Gothic Quarter from all 8 floors.   

The social programme is made up of a series of events and activities designed to complement Opus 2002 and allow those who wish to make a real week-end of it to take full advantage of the magnificent tourist opportunities provided by one of the world’s most popular destinations.    

OPUS  2002: will stand apart from other maritime Law seminars through its format, content and through the level and degree of interactivity between the participants. Like all Mare Forum conferences, the ultimate goal of the conference  is to provide a true forum where all participants are invited to take part in the discussion periods after every panel of high profile speakers has spoken directly to the issues.
