The Waterborne Technology Platform, the European Network of Maritime Clusters, the Maritime Industries Forum in close cooperation with MARE FORUM and the European Commission, organise a one-day conference in order to discuss the future strategy for a European Maritime Research Policy. The objective of the conference is to bring together the high-level decision makers from the European maritime industry, maritime research, as well the policy makers from the members states and to discuss an integral approach to the research needs of the European Union, linked to its nascent Maritime Policy as outlined in the Green Paper of the European Commission. The programme of the conference consists of 5 sessions, while the two key-note speakers from the European Commission at the opening and closing of the conference, will underscore the significance of this initiative for the development of a pro-active research policy, intimately linked to the policy needs of the European Union.
